1st Period Celebration is a heartwarming campaign initiated by the Matram Seva Foundation that goes beyond merely providing menstrual products. This initiative celebrates the very first period of a girl's life, turning what is often considered a taboo into a moment of joy and empowerment. In many societies, menstruation has long been shrouded in stigma and secrecy, casting a shadow over a natural and important phase of a girl’s life. Our campaign seeks to transform this narrative by making the first period a celebration rather than a source of discomfort or embarrassment. We believe that every girl deserves to experience this milestone with dignity and pride. To mark this special occasion, we organize unique events where girls receive their first menstrual kit, complete with sanitary pads, educational materials, and personal care items. These kits are presented with a sense of celebration, acknowledging the significance of this new chapter in their lives. Each girl is given a warm welcome and treated to a celebratory atmosphere, surrounded by supportive mentors and role models. Our approach goes beyond distribution. We conduct engaging workshops and interactive sessions that empower girls with knowledge about menstrual health and hygiene. These sessions are designed to be both informative and uplifting, providing practical advice while fostering a positive attitude towards menstruation.
